Neo z64-w10 initial setup problems

Hi, just got my new Neo z64-w10 with windows 10 already installed on the machine.

The problem is that the machine keeps rebooting during windows initial setup.

I've got through the first setup screen (language and time zone preferences) and the second setup screen (express setup), but afterwards the machine reboots and brings me back to the first screen (language and time zone preferences).

I've tried re-plugging the AC. Did not help.

Any suggestions?

Z64 windows 10 no sound after update

Hello,
I own a Minix Z64 device with win 10 os, after the last windows update my sound stopped working (It doesnt recognize my LG tv speakers, or the earphones).
i checked and for some reson there arent any sound drivers installed anymore.

what can i do?

Mad Catz Fightstick

Hi,

Im trying to use my Madcatz arcade sf3 fightstick se and is no possible. Ive tryed both usb ports and win10 recognize it but doesnt work. The stick works perfect with other pcs so I think should be a driver problem.
Any suggestion?

Problem to update to windows 8.1

hello,
This week I bought the minix Z64W (before I used to have the minix X-8H). I would like to start by updating the device operating system to Windows 10, but when I check for system updates the system entries in a loop that never stops. I’ve been googling to find a solution and I’ve tried different options like executing Windows Update Troubleshooter but it seems not to work either.
I really don’t like Windows 8.1, could you please indicate me how to update to Windows 10?

Air mouse suitable for a Z64W

Anyone know of a suitable air mouse that will work correctly with the minix?

I've got an A2 lite which sort of works, but its lack of a right button means it's not fully functional.

It seems a bit ridiculous to have to use a pretty much full sized keyboard for this device.

i currently have the z64w and really am missing dolby digital. I was thinking of buying an external soudcard for the optical connection. Does anyone have any experience with this on the z64w?


if so, what card do you recommend?

I am new here and this is my first contribution to this forum :)
I have successfully managed to dual boot Windows 10 and CM-x86 13.0(based on Android 6 - Marshmallow). I did this after forum user WeK05 recommended to try 6.0 x86 android. No USB needed :)

Things you need to download:
1. MiniTool Partition Wizard
2. cm-x86_64- 13.0-rc1 from android-x86 org
3. usb drive 8gb minimum
4. grub2win from (Google it)
5. any program to write iso on USB(I used PowerIso)



Things you need to do:

Neo Z64W doesn't start anymore (fix: to CLEAR CMOS)

My Neo Z64W doesn't work no more. Power supply is working but nothing happens when i press the power button (no blue light).
This is since i changed the setting in the BIOS -> S5 mode after power fail.
What could i do now?

Unable to install 1607 upgrade

I've searched this forum for a solution, but what works for others does not seem to work for me.

I am getting continuous failures trying to upgrade to 1607.

I downloaded the Windows 10 upgrade assistant, which seemed to work OK but on trying to boot I got

"The installation failed in the first_boot phase ....."

I have approximately 11GB free on my C drive.

Any ideas?

Power button

My minix NEO Z64 with W10, lately can't power on normaly! When I try to power on, I have to keep pressing the on button so it can boot and start normaly!!
Does anybody have the same problem and/or knows how to fix it?

Minix Z64 bricked after w10 1607 update

I did not make the windows 10 image and recovery disk so I'm not able to recover the system after failed 1607 update
Serial number oz Z64 is available in the attachment
Purchase date is 13/10/2015
Is it possible to have a copy ot the windows 10 recovery disk?

Dear all since this week i believe i have a problem with update 1607. My Minix z64 is installing the update but after a reboot screen keeps black. When I pull the power plug out it returns to his former state but than it will install the update again via the windows updater. This is quite annoying. In Q4 2016 i updated the firmware of the Minix. How is this problem to be solved?

Hi, i'm stuck with a problem from yesterday. I have upgraded the system os from 8.1 to windows 10 and all went well until the anniversary edition.

1. The system try several times to download the large update, but after the installation it remains black forever. Restarting the minix , pushing the power off button the result is that the update failed.

2. I have also a lot of updates pending that are failed.

3.From yesterday the netflix app doesn't start anymore, it crash after startup.

Neo Z64 Windows 10 crash every day

Hello

I bought the Minix Neo z64, for use as server for my Weatherstation.
But i'm totally unsatisfied with it, it crashed every day when i run it for 24/7 so i have to force a shutdown by a batch file every 6 hours. To prevent that the PC is running out of virtual memory, why it runs out of virtual memory when i have 4.5GB of it?
The same errorlog as before with 704MB. And yes i restarted it after the changes!

The developer of the weather station software found out that the problem is not...

Flashing BIOS

Due to false update by M$, many of affected Z64-W units suffered BIOS fail.

In October, MINIX team helped many users and fixed/flashed their units, but that time has passed.

Unfortunately some users suffered that failure again, like myself, so I'm starting this thread to call on technical staff and other knowledgeable users to help about flashing the affected BIOS on my/their own.

First of all, correct me if I'm wrong, hardware:

HDMI connection 'lost' on Log In

When I boot the device from cold I get the initial Minix screen, then the HDMI connection is 'lost' while Windows boots (TV/Monitor reports no signal).
To log in, I have to guess when the device has finished booting then press the power button for a few seconds. Often this takes several attempts (hold power button for a few seconds, release, repeat) but eventually the Windows 'Power Down?' screen appears. I can then cancel that screen and log in normally.
I get the same thing if I sign out of...
